James Corporan

A New York native, James is inspired by science fiction and minimalist design. He currently works as the head studio technician at UrbanGlass.

James' signature Stacked Bowls each begin as a bubble of molten glass overlaid with consecutive layers of color. Once cool, each piece is meticulously carved and polished by hand to reveal its colorful cross-section. The polished rim and clear middle layer often give the illusion that the inner surface is "floating" within the form.
