Starting from a spiral base, the Hold vase transitions into a cylinder and then gracefully arcs inward. Creating an interior shape to assist in arranging flowers and an exterior form asking to be held.
These objects were made with Evenline’s Mark III molten Glass 3D Printer. 2000 degree Fahrenheit molten glass flows out through a nozzle in the printer. In concert, the machine moves around in x, y and z tracing out the shape of the object in three dimensional space. Each finished object is a single bead of glass formed in this way.
Each vase measures 6.5 inches in diameter and 9.5 inches tall.
