Collection: Ayako Hirogaki

Born and raised in Japan, Ayako is a graduate of the Toyama City Institute of Glass Art. Ayako's jewelry is made of a combination of geometric shapes created by threading silk strings through thin borosilicate glass rods and other materials. This himmel series expresses the relationship and coexistence between humans and nature. The technique is inspired by the traditional Finnish ornamental himmeli, derived from the Swedish word himmel meaning sky or heaven.
