"Spinning a globe in my father’s den I dreamt I would travel where my parents had been.  Glass has provided me a means to travel- from coast to coast in the US – Seattle then  RISD for my MFA and then trips abroad – France, Norway, Japan, Italy, and Turkey to remember a few.  We Live in a Glass Age – think of how we receive and interpret communication – It’s my job as a glassmaker to expose the nuances of this ubiquitous material." 

Process:

"Somewhere between art and design a teetering takes place.  Were these cups detritus from a celebration?  Here I try to make a ‘machined like’ champagne flute yet treat it like a plastic cup…"
